RANGE OF EXPERIMENTS TO BE CARRIED OUT:

  • To determine Heat transferrate of heating & cooling.
  • To determine the overall andindividual film heat transfer coefficients for a condensation of a vapour on a Horizontal Condenser.
  • To calculate Effectiveness of the Condenser.
  • The experiments can be conductedat various values of input & calculation can be made accordingly.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION :

The shell and tube type horizontal condenser. Steam ( or any condensable organic vapour ) is admitted in the Shell Side. The pressure and temperature of the vapour is indicated by pressure gauge and Temperature Indicator . Condensate rate could be measured by collecting it in to a receiver in known time. The flow rate of cold water flowing through the inner pipe is known by rotameter.
