TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION :
The apparatus consists of a circular pipe with pressure taps. Steady flow is set up in the pipe with the help of a suitable pump. Differential manometer measures the pressure drop. Pitot probe placed in the pipe measures the pressure and velocity. The probe can be traversed over a diameter to determine velocity profiles. A calibrated orificemeter fitted in the pipe gives the discharge and acts as a fitting to determine setting length.
