- To study the Load Measurement using Strain Gauge.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION :
Main aspect of designing this set up is to demonstrate students the functioning of Strain Gauge so as to measure the load Or force. Hence it is not only provided with Electronic Circuitry & Display but also with required Mechanical Set up.
Here a Mild Steel Cantilever Beam is fitted with Strain Gages as sensing elements. The Cantilever structure itself fixes one end in a rigid way to a Channel Frame / Stand. Whereas other end is kept free for applying loads etc. One can apply loads to this free using a Weight Pan Type arrangement. As we know for any Cantilever Beam, Free end shows max. Deflection where as fix end shows max. Strain. So Strain Gages are pasted nearby this fix end, in Full Bridge Manner, so that max. Strain concentration could be converted to load. Here a standard as well as well known Instrumentation Amplifier based design is implemented. Basic Tare or Zero adjustment is provided to nullify the initial Load if any. Load will be indicated on digital indicator.
